Henslowe + Red Label = Love

Henslowe - TFA Red Label - Frost colourway

This is my first official FO of 2012! It would have been my last official FO of 2011, but I made a stupid mistake on the set up row of the border and realized on the 31st of December that I had to rip and re-knit the entire border, so I spent the whole day on January 1st doing just that. And now it's finished, and now it's perfect!

Henslowe - TFA Red Label - Frost colourway

This is the Henslowe Shawl pattern by my new fave Beth Kling knit in TFA Red Label Cashmere Silk Singles in the Frost colourway. Frost was last years inaugural TFA Year In Colour Club colourway and I totally love it. It's soft and grey and blue and though I think that this version might be even softer and greyer than the original I love it all the same. With a little more practice to make sure that I can get it just I way I want it in all the TFA yarn bases, this colourway is well on it's way to making it into the TFA collection full time.

This shawl is a really nice balance of interesting and simple. The construction is really neat, but none of the steps or stitches are overly complicated or require too much focus. The garter stitch body stands up really nicely and is the perfect textural pairing for the light and airy lace. It's also completely reversible and let me tell you, in this yarn... it's like buttah! I'm obsessed.

Beautiful Tanis! Can't wait for frost to hit the TFA line, I confess I was hoping for just that when I saw it last year ;)

Oh my goodness, that's beautiful! Something about that color is just PERFECT for that pattern.

P.S. I'm finally getting caught up on my blog reading and just read your Christmas post -- the photo of all the cousins in onesie pj's is awesome!! Getting pj's on Christmas Eve is a tradition in my family, too. I wish I had the courage to post the photo of my husband, baby, and I all in our matching candy-striped pj's this year!

That is soooooo beautiful! That soft gray, blue-green color is my all time favorite. 90% of the walls in my house are painted this shade and I can't wait until you release this gorgeous colorway to the public! :)

What a beautiful shawl. I agree that the garter stitch balances out the lace really well, and a gorgeous colourway too :-)

I've yet to try lace work and this looks like a very good place to start!

Beautiful! I bought the pattern and now have to order some colors! Were you able to complete this shawl with one skein of Red Label?

beautiful! I love this pattern if that wasn't already obvious. I've knit it twice and wouldn't hesitate to knit again when the mood strikes.
