Babies in cashmere sweaters are just about the cutest, most snuggly things I could think of! I set out to design a simple little baby sweater that would be the perfect use for one or two very special skeins of Purple Label Cashmere sock yarn.
The pattern includes two detailing options: a lacy zigzag motif and a picot edge can make a pretty cardigan for a little girl; or a handsome rope cable paired with a garter stitch hem make a masculine cardigan perfect for a baby boy.

ReplyDeleteI've been working on one baby present after another, and was really ready for some new patterns. They're both beautiful. I'm particularly glad to see something for a boy, and I really like working top-down patterns--thanks!
ReplyDeleteHas anybody tried this with another yarn? I am concerned of the washability of cashmere. Babies get things "dirty" and can this fiber be washed?
ReplyDeleteIs this cashmere washable? Has anybody used another fiber? MaryJane
ReplyDeleteI love this sweater pattern and would like to make it in a size 2 with a little heavier yarn. Do you think that would ruin the pattern and what are my first steps for changing it? thanks

ReplyDeleteI am not very good at dpn's. when it comes to the sleeves would I just be able to place the sts on a holder and when done with the body go back and do the sleeves and just have a seam on it??
ReplyDeletethanks
Debbie
Hi Debbie, Sure! If you'd rather knit the sleeves flat and sew the seam, that's totally fine too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the pattern for such beautiful sweaters! I'll be making my little tater tots (my grandbabies) one of these for sure!
ReplyDeleteDownload did not work. Can you e-mail a copy of pattern to me please. I love making baby sweaters and would love to make these beautiful sweaters. I have not knit one from top down but would love to learn how. I believe this pattern would be a great teacher. Thanks for sharing dmdepner@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteGreat patterns! :). Did it just take one skein for each sweater?
ReplyDeleteWinter Wear is so cool and stylish in look that every kid would love to wear this winter, it keeps warm in winter and also protect from cold breeze.
ReplyDeleteHello, there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful patterns, really but Iam stuck in row 3. I do not understand
at which point the increasings are made so that I come to 210 stitches.
Could you please try to explain?
And another thing. How do you suggest to increase 6 stitches evenly in first ten rows so that they are not very visible?
Thank you very much.
