Is it possible that I haven't done a giveaway since October? Shame on me. Let's fix that right now!
Recently I've been looking at my Baby Shane Blanket kits in a whole new light. I've had these kits available in my shop for a few years now, and suddenly I find them completely inspiring! I think that most people buy the kits with the intention of knitting my Baby Shane Blanket pattern (duh) but there are so many possibilities. I'm considering crocheting a ripple blanket, maybe knitting a simple striped blanket like this... I've started viewing these kits almost like sampler palettes that I can play around with, I've got a few more palettes in mind, I might refresh some of my currently available colour options and add some new ones too in the future.
Which brings us to today's giveaway! Leave a comment to enter to win the Baby Shane Blanket kit of your choice. In your comment, let me know:
1) What is your favorite palette? Or, is there's a palette that you'd love to see but that I don't yet have available, let me know!
2) What would you make with your kit?
3) Be sure to leave an e-mail address or Ravelry username so I can get in touch with you should you win!
As usual, for bonus entries:
Mention this giveaway on your blog and include a link to this giveaway post - be sure to come back and leave another comment here telling me that you blogged about it so I know!
Post a link to this blog post on your facebook page (be sure to tag TFA in the post so I can see it!)

OOoo I'd love to win!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple colorways!
I'd probably make something stripey and awesome. Not sure what yet!
laurenashleyellis@gmail.com
The Greens palette is the one that makes my heart go pitter pat! I would definitely make a blanket, and probably a very simple striped one - maybe even some comforting, squishy garter stripes. My esthetic is generally pretty simple, I love stripes, and I've JUST found out that I will probably need to move in about a month (cringe!). I think knitting something soothing, stripey, and GREEN (my absolute favourite colour) would go a long way to helping me deal with moving stress! :) -- SarahVV on Rav!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to make a Baby Shane blanket in the Jewel palette!
ReplyDeleteLove the greens. My first grandbaby is coming in August. I love the baby Shane blanket.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the reds kit! I would use mine to make a chevron striped cardigan, I have an idea floating in my head and this would be the perfect yarn for the design!
ReplyDeleteYorkshirelamb on ravelry.
Ooooooh I love the Blues palette
ReplyDeleteI love that fair isle baby sweater you made out of one of your kits...I'd most likely consider making one of those. So cute!
jandrews on RAV :-)
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThe blues are gorgeous. I've been thinking of knitting a Sky Scarf (Conceptual Knitting), and that colorway has the perfect colors!
The sky scarf is a simple garter stitch scarf, and each day one garter ridge is knit with the colors that reflect the sky that day.
My favorite is probably the blue to yellow one, but i think a palette with a lot of yellows and reds would be reaaaallly nice! I really like the blanket you designed so I would probably just make that :) I love stripes.
ReplyDeleteowlmazing@gmail.com
I really like the blues to yellows and also the originals! I think something involving stripes, chevrons or possibly fair isle would be great!
ReplyDeletekellyhaug2@gmail.com
It's almost impossible to choose a favorite palette - they're all so beautiful, and playing with color is one of the parts I love most about yarn and knitting. I think the original and the purples palettes are beautiful (it seems whenever I'm choosing, I tend to gravitate toward pinks and purples!) - I think a rainbow palette would be awesome, as well (like poppy, orange blossom, buttercup, lemongrass, peacock, and grape). I would make either this log cabin baby blanket (http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2010/5/23/anzula-squishy-log-cabin-baby-blanket.html) or this chevron baby blanket (just knit on smaller needles) (http://www.purlbee.com/chevron-baby-blanket/).
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this giveaway - it's amazing! My e-mail is andrea.hungerford@mac.com.
I always for for purples. So I think in this case I would go for the jewels to add some more colors. I also love teal and that peachy color in the pic.
ReplyDeleteI think I would likely make the blanket.

I'm going to make a baby Shane blanket for a friend who is due in August. It would be awesome to win the yarn! For her I was thinking Jewel because the baby is a boy and she's on an Adirondack theme. I would like different palettes and I'd would know it if I saw it but can't come up with it on my own.
ReplyDeletecasey0222 on ravelry!
I didn't know about the Baby Shane blanket pattern - the projects on Ravelry look great. I would knit a Baby Shane blanket in the purples palette.
ReplyDeleteRavelry username: victoriasmum
Everything are wonderful but I love purples! I would like to make a shawl or poncho.
ReplyDeleteRegards

I love your purple palette. Followed very closely by your pastel palette. I would make a baby Shane blanket. I have made one before and I love the opportunity to knit with eight of your colors in the same project. Thanks for having a giveaway. It is always exciting waiting to find out who wins. Debbie.Chisholm@Rogers.com
ReplyDeleteThis would be amazing to win!
ReplyDeleteI love the jewel combination so much! I think I'd actually make the blanket.. or if I could find a cardigan/sweater pattern to incorporate those colours.. it would be so pretty!
Raverly ID: alishyaburrell
Oh my - are you really going to make me choose a favorite palette? Can I choose them all?!? ;) I am loving the purple one today I think. I have wanted to do the Shane blanket for awhile now - so I would probably cast on that! :) And I think it is about time that my 18 month old had another knitted blanket from mommy (her 4 year old sister has a ton!).
ReplyDeletegunne@mcmaster.ca and avasmom2007 on Ravelry :)
Thanks for the giveaway! So generous and awesome! xo
Pick a colorway? They're all magnificent. If forced I'd go with original, and I'd likely make the Baby Shane blanket - I expect friends to announce soon they're expecting. :) Although it'd be fun to have for first fair isle work?
ReplyDeleteI love the jewel pallate! I would either make an infinity scarf or a striped sweater.
ReplyDeleteShared it on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteRavID: RainMomma

It's hard to choose as all the palettes are so beautiful, but my favorite is definitely the greens. I would make the Baby Shane blanket for a dear friend who's expecting.
ReplyDeleteI love the "Blues" palette. What would I make? Ummm...maybe a triangular shawl of some sort with striped blues. Pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the blue to yellow's group something you don't have though would be a rainbow group or one from each colour.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably make something colourful for T with it, I seem to be leaning towards stripes at the moment.
Jewel tones all the way! I see them in an awesome granny square quilt - retro but still chic!
ReplyDeletebibliotecarte on Rav
I really love the blue palette and I would make the Shane blanket.
ReplyDeleteI'm lurking at the Baby Shane blanket for a while now ... I'm waiting for the right baby ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Jewel and the Blue palettes are screaming at me ... I'll need a lot of self-control not to buy a kit !!
Something with strips would be perfect to show the wonderful colors you create. I'm Kiara08 on Rav !
I am a big fan of your wonderful, colorful yarns.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win it in a palette of blues :)))
I love these shades :)))
Raverly I'm - Kocurek
I have been wanting to make this blanket - so that is what I'd do if I won. I like the original colour combination for a baby blanket, but I wish I could drag and drop colours on the page to test a mix of the red and purple sets, without the lightest colours. Rav. CraftingCrone
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous, but I would love to have the 'greens' set! I would definitely make your baby Shane blanket.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this giveaway!

Ravelry: Karmarose
I am attracted to the blues with which I would make a striped blanket for my college bound daughter.Personally I'd like a palette with a heavy emphasis on reds.
ReplyDeleteooo i love tanis, and the baby blankets too
ReplyDeleteif i had to choose i would go blues to yellows!!
and i too would ravel at the possibilities!!
im EvilSquirrel on Rav ;)
i dont have a blog (shocking i know right!) but i did share on facebook about this giveaway...i hope that counts...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Blue to Yellow colourway. I would definitely make the Baby Shane blanket as I've got a ton of friends with babies on the way right now - so exciting!
ReplyDeletewilson.clc@gmail.com or christylaura on ravelry.
I adore the pastels. So lovely and springy!
ReplyDeletecarla.bossart@gmail.com
I love the Originals. They'd make a wonderful blanket. I'm Memphisholli on Ravelry. If this somehow repeats (Blogger is acting up for me), please forgive me.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful! I love the original colourways. I think I would make an ombre cowl or a small ombre or patchwork style blanket.
ReplyDeleteRav ID: blondecatalogue
I have reblogged the giveaway HERE
ReplyDeleteI love your yarns & patterns! I especially love the blue colourway and I would make the Baby Shane blanket with it (if I don't win, I just might order the kit anyway!). I've just finished my Fiddlehead mitts and I love them, too bad I have to put them away until the snow flies again. You can find me as wouldntyouknow on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI love the jewel tones!... but would also love to see a range of oranges.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to crochet a blanket made of african flow hexagons. It's been on my to-do forever, but it would require so much time and yarn!
Wow, they are all so beautiful. I love the blues and would probably make a mitered vest for me.
ReplyDeleteRav Id: snohotina
What? you want me to choose only one?
ReplyDeleteMy heart always go first to the Purples but then the debate starts: Rachel, the Jewel will be much prettier, hmmm... look at that Red no, the Blue, the Blue,,, and so on.
I always wanted to knit the original Baby Shane Blanket but these days I am on a kick of short rows garter so it may become some trial of garter stripes blanket with some short rows thrown in for good measure!
I am Dodiraz on Ravelry.
I'd love to make a Baby Shane blanket in the purple palette
ReplyDeleteI love the red colourway. I think I would try to weave a blanket with the yarn and have the colours shift from one to the other in the warp. Not sure what kind of pattern I would weave yet... maybe a simple twill.
ReplyDeleteBaashie on Rav :)
I love the greens colorway. I love the Baby Shane blanket, too, but I think I'd make something more like a log cabin pattern (this one, maybe: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/log-cabin-throw--pillow).
ReplyDeleteBlogged about it here: http://ohsopathos.tumblr.com/post/20063414220/tanis-fiber-arts-is-having-a-giveaway-leave-a
ReplyDeleteBlog posting - done! http://web.me.com/andrea.hungerford/On_Blueberry_Hill/Blog/Entries/2012/3/28_Great_Giveaway!.html
ReplyDeleteI also posted on my FB page, but couldn't figure out how to tag it to TFA :(
Hello friend! You know I can't resist trying to win some of your awesome yarn :)
ReplyDeleteThat super easy baby blanket you've linked to has been one I've been eying for a while now. I love the way the colours become the star. In this case, I would have to go with the jewel palette. I love the richness of the colours, and the lighter ones means that it's not season specific.
I'm ayoungvoice on ravelry. Hope all is well! Say hi to Chris and Stella for me!
I like the Blue to Yellow palette because of gradual color shift. It reminds me of mermaids or the ocean for some reason. I think I would make a shawl using that color-shift effect.
ReplyDeleteRAVID: ambitious
I think that an earth tones palette would be fabulous-- browns, drab greens, maybe some gray & blue... You never look at nature & think "those colors don't go together". :-D I love zig-zag blankets!
ReplyDeleteValerie
burningtoshine@aol.com
I love love the greens. I have been dying to make the Andrea's shawl in a bunch of colors with a light grey edging. I think the greens would be fun.
ReplyDeleteCathyface on ravelry!
I am drawn to the Blues (I feel a song coming on!!) and have just come across a fabulous crochet pattern for a rosette-square baby blanket which would be adorable in that colourway.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is definitely the Reds and I would probably make a blanket for my living room. I need a new one to curl up under and read a good book!
ReplyDeleteI am Kat872 on Rav
Oh my my, all those colours!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I fell in love at first sight with your greens!
For the three darker skeins, I'd make myself a lace cardi alternating colours, and then with the others ones I'd knit a small blanket and monsters for my brand new cousin (Yup, auntie is on the late side! But he is ADORABLE!)
And maybe, if there is some yarn left (one can hope!) I'd mix it with the deep sea I have at home, and make a monster, FOR ME!
Tadah! And my ravelry name is catsandtea!
Would LOVE to buy a palette with purples and oranges!! That would be so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe Baby Shane blanket would look great in our new home in those colors ;)
I'm 'knittingcrush' on Ravelry
I think my favorite is the jewel! I would make a blank canvas baby sweater" with some sort of tbd fair isle design!
ReplyDeleteI love the purples, and having just discovered it, I think I'd like to make the Baby Shane Blanket!
ReplyDeleteI'm jolakey on Ravelry
Hi! I love the pastels pallete! Its so beautifull! The colors are perfect!
ReplyDeleteI want to knit a gorgeous blanket for my new nephew that will arrive in november!
My ravelry name sandrabaroni
I've knit the pastel, and I'm knitting the original up right now. I'd love to try the red version or the jewels next...though green is pretty awesome too. I'd either make another blanket (I do love the Baby Shane pattern) or I would make an awesome stripy cardigan. I have a think for stripes :)
ReplyDeleteWhich brings us to today's giveaway! Leave a comment to enter to win the Baby Shane Blanket kit of your choice. In your comment, let me know:
ReplyDelete1)The blue to yellow palette makes my heart sing.
2) I'd make a tonne of baby clothes, like the Emma Tunic, because 11 of my friends are having babies in the first six months of this year.
3) My rav name is fineskylark
I think an autumn palette would be amazing with burnt oranges, yellows, reds, moss, and brown... I loved your amber colourway it was so rich and lovely...
ReplyDeleteIf I had to pick one blanket palette from your list I think it would be the blue to yellow but they are all so nice!
my rav name is sauceyjill :)
I love the red shades and I would probably make a beautiful colored blanket out of the yarn.
ReplyDeletepupseblume on Ravelry
I'd love to make the Baby Shane Blanket in the pastels for my boss's (and my LYS owner's) new granddaughter!
ReplyDeletesassykrafty on Ravelry
I love the Red palette. It is exactly the kind of creative combination (i.e. not actually all red) that I don't think I could ever put together myself.
ReplyDeleteIf I won I would make a baby blanket. My brother's first baby is due in June and it would be quite the heirloom!
mooncalf
Those jewel tones just grabbed my attention. I would love to see a kit like this in shades of grey, white, black.
ReplyDeleteThe yarn would become sweaters for my nieces.
JaneSezKnit on Ravelry.
Thanks!!!
Love the original colour way. I would knit a baby Shane for my mum to use as a lap blanket.
ReplyDeleteSuenagle56@yahoo.co.uk
Sigh...LOVE them all!!! My favorite is the Greens!!! I would love to make a Baby Shane Blanket, I've been eyeing the kits forever it seems!!
ReplyDeletetracylgrange@gmail.com
Wow! Great giveaway. I'd have to say my favourite colourway is Blues, however if i was feeling slightly adventurous I might go with Blues to Yellow. My new nephew is due in July so I've got a bunch of baby boy ideas rolling around my head, not sure what I'd make yet. Rav Id 9bdh1.
ReplyDeleteI love the jewel tones, I would probably make a stripey cardigan or perhaps something with colorwork. Not sure! I am susanknits on Rav.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually much of a pastels girl, but gosh that pastel palette kills me!! I've been wanting to knit a blanket for my girls with quality wool yarn, and how sweet would a Baby Shane blanket be??
ReplyDeleteLove the original!
ReplyDeleteerika_foreman@yahoo.com
I love the pastels palette and think it would be sweet as a simple stripey blanket. My email address is annabelvita@yahoo.co.uk
ReplyDeleteWow these are all stunning!!! I would love the originals! I have a precious baby boy that would just adore a new blanket! He goes to sleep every night with a binkie so the Shane Blanket would be a great transition with a happy result!
ReplyDeletestacylgrange@gmail.com
I love the blue set. I would make a stripey shawl or wrap. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteknitterlydesigns on Ravelry
They are all stunning but I think the Purples are my favourite. I'd love to do a crocheted hexagonal blanket with it. That would be so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm MissScarlet on Rav.
I love the yarn base you use. Finished a four season hat this winter.
ReplyDeleteThe blue to yellow and the purples are lovely!
vrs@mymts.net
I Love the Jewel palette.
ReplyDeleteIf I win I will give this yarn to my mommy who just have a operation to remove a breast cancer. She don't have lots of money so she will be happy to knit for the first time a wool of this quality.
I love Tanis Fiber Art.
Jean-Philippe
jeanphicliche@gmail.com
Giveaway, yay!!! Hmmm... I want to say the purple set is my favourite, but I think the reds would make a great poject! The blanket is adorable, but I'm thinking stripey cardigan goodness!
ReplyDeleteHave you considered putting up a colour wheel palette? That would be AMAZING!
Rav ID: Dearknits
I love the Blues to Yellow! You're blues are perfection. Perfect for a baby blanket. I would like to knit one for myself, although I'm not expecting yet I hope to be in the near future.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win!
Rav ID: Diana505
I adore the reds palette, it reminds me of lava!
ReplyDeleteI would use these colours to make a blanket for an Icelandic friend who is expecting a baby girl in a few weeks time. She has banned pink from the nursery, so I would love to make a blanket for little Freja that reflects her volcanic heritage! I think Mummy would approve. :)
Once again, keep up the beautiful work Tanis!
-Kristen (Ravelry name: TheStitchyWicket)
If I had a choice, the jewel tones...and some sort of shawl or wrap with lots of colours... also I'm helene8706 on ravelry.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the blue to yellow kit. I've been very into stripes these days, so maybe a stripey cardi for myself and a coordinating stripey cardi for my little girl. kfife on Rav.
ReplyDeleteIts so hard to pick I love them all!! I guess if I have to pick it would be the green palette. Right now I'm feeling greens! It must be because spring is right around the corner.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Melxcloud on Rav
I think I'd make your baby shane blanket pattern in the greens. Two dear friends are having boys this summer, so I'd better get knitting!
ReplyDeleteThe reds would be really pretty :)
ReplyDeletebarbn77 on Rav
So many gorgeous color combos! I have been admiring the Baby Shane blanket for awhile so it would be awesome to win the yarn! I think the jewel tones but certainly closely followed by the blue to yellow shades. I'm Judy7 on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI love the purples!! I think I would make some sort of blanket, I get cold at night!
ReplyDeleteRachel (yarngirl99 on Ravelry)
The Greens palette is dreamy, so is the blue to yellow AND the red, I could never really decide! I would probably want to make a blanket, it's such lovely yarn that I'd really want it to just be held as a keepsake for the family!
ReplyDeleteThere isn't really an Autumn / Earthy palette. Some people might like that!?
My rav ID is Krys5797
I heart Tanis! :)
I love the Blue to Yellow! A simple zig zag crocheted blanket would be beautiful and I do love to make them!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see you add a neutral option, the colors are so beautiful but I've been really interesting in shifting shades of grey, you could even have a lot of variance between purple/blue greys, dark grey. Oh, I love it just thinking about it.
rav id: theowlandthebee
I like the Greens! I'd probably make a few of Veera Välimäki shawls, or a stripety sweater. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, wow - there really is so much you could do with those colors. Like a ripple (as you mentioned), or maybe a knitted chevron blanket (though I'd probably go ripple since crochet is faster for the blankets. :D)
ReplyDeleteAnd all the color palettes are great - it's hard to choose. I'd probably go for the Jewel palette. :)
karamichele on ravelry. :)
(apologies if this shows up twice - blogger hates me. :P)
I'm loving the greens
ReplyDeleteI will be making a baby blanket for my niece's new little one due in September. It would be nice to make your pattern with your yarn!
Ohh I would SO love to win one of your beautiful kits!! I love the Jewel kit, and the Green kit, but if I won I'd probably have to pick the Pastel set so I could make a Baby Shane Blanket, or just a bunch of little baby clothes. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the give-away!
Rav name: maidenmt
I think the Original Palette is my favourite. I would make a domino baby blanket for my new niece or nephew due to be born this Summer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I spent yesterday looking online for colour inspiration to make attic24 granny stripe blanket! i actually was thinking of purchasing one of your baby shane packages b/c i really want to try out your yarns but was not sure of the amts and how it would work out. Also, i was more looking for a rainbow palette. Whew! So to answer your questions:
ReplyDelete1. i love them all but for the blanket in mind, i think i would like the blue to yellow.. but the thing i really want is a rainbow one :)
2. i would knit the granny stripe blanket from attic24 - though that flowers on snow blanket is amazing.. but i don't think i would get that done in time for baby3 :)
3. you can reach me at peruseratlarge in ravelry
Oooh, these are lovely, and so is the blanket. I am partial to the jewel tones. I'm not sure if I would make the blanket but I know I could come up with something lovely to make with this yarn. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteravID: juleslunder
I am loving the green's. I would use it to make a new woobi for me to cuddle up with when the ridculous a/c in my office makes it feel like December in the middle of July.
ReplyDeleteRavelry ID: Amanda761
I've knit the Baby Shane in the Pastel palette, but personnally, the Jewel palette is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI love the Baby Shane pattern and would knit it again...lots of babies due this year!
Ravelry ID : jml417
I know these kits were meant for baby blankets, but I don't really like pastel colors and it seems that all the kits have them included. I guess I'd choose Jewel if I won. I would likely use individual skeins to make other items such as shawlettes, hats or mittens rather than a blanket. I would make a blanket if the colors were all earthtones; browns, greens, rusts, golds, deep reds. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the blues. :) I would make a couple of shawls with those gorgeous colors.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to pick one! I would say the Blues is my favorite, I would probably make a chevron blanket with it.
ReplyDeleteOne combo I would like to see is a more neutral, with possibly some blue or purple. One with charcoal in it, I love charcoal.
I like the Blue to Yellow and the Original. I'm not sure what I would make. I like the Baby Shane Blanket but have no babies to make it for.
ReplyDeleteI love the Greens palette. So many sunny shades of green, which is especially nice this time of the year. =)
ReplyDeleteI would use this palette to knit the Radiating Squares baby blanket, with a few modifications, to make this blanket drift from light (in the middle) to dark (on the outside edges).

Thank you!!
I love the purple and jewel colorways so much!! Absolutely gorgeous. I would probably knit a blanket with the yarn, with lots of stripes of course!
ReplyDeleteI'm oocha on Ravelry :) Thank you!
1. I love the Pastels color palette.
ReplyDelete2. I honestly don't know what I would make because the yarn hasn't told me yet. I have to feel it and play with and then I will figure it out... I do know that whatever it is, it will be stunning in your yarn.
3. I'm PprmntMochaMama on Ravelry.
Thank you for such a beautiful giveaway!
Those are all wonderful colors, I especially like the pastels for babies. I have noticed that a lot of new moms are going towards neutral colors, soft grays with maybe a soft pastel accent and it is beautiful. My family is growing with more grandchildren on the way and blankets for the baby are my favorite thing to make, they don't outgrow them.
ReplyDeleteI think I was drooling a bit....
ReplyDeleteI love the blue to yellow. It's got all my favourite colors in it.
After perusing Ravelry, I loved Cery's Baby Blankie. Specifically this project - Baby Lavallee Blanet by squale.
I think that might be my next baby project.
RavID - Prairie-Knitter
Oh, the choices! I think I like the Jewel tone the best right now, but that could change. Not sure what I would make with this, but some shawl maybe? As for other colourways, I would like to see something in the brown range. Earth tones.
ReplyDeleteI'm commenting again to say I posted about, and linked to, the giveaway on my blog... http://cookingallthethyme.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/a-little-spring-break/
ReplyDelete:)
Also, I saw that another reader suggested another palette for the kit- a rainbow palette- and that's what I was thinking as well, it would be great!
Babies are all around me. A Baby Shane Blanket as been on my want to knit list for ages. I would make it in Reds or Blues, or perhaps, I should make one in each ....
ReplyDeletetamyboy on Ravelry ;)
I posted about this on my FB page but I can't figure out how to tag you in it - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Peppermint-Mocha-Mama/172904812722226
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the purple colorways. I would make the Shane Blanket. My sister made the Shane Blanket and it is absolutely gorgeous. My ravelry name is Maryknits7. Thanks for another great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'd love the blue to yellow, with a swap out of the teal for orange - the dark blues and greens would really let the yellow and orange play :) and it would be quite a toss up between the baby shane and a garter strip blanket - a cage match would have to determine the winner!
ReplyDeleteThe jewel palette is definitely my favourite - babies should get awesome colours too, not just pastels!
ReplyDeleteI'd probably use it to make a sweater, maybe striped or fair-isle, if there's enough. Or a bunch of awesome colourwork mittens. Maybe a replacement Fiddlehead mitten, for the one I lost.
I've tweeted the giveaway, too!
My rav name is sknitting, and my email is sasha[DOT]campbell[AT]gmail[DOT]com
Wow! Great giveaway. Thanks, Tanis, for doing this. I think because spring is popping out all over now, I'm extra partial to the blues to yellow mix, but one thing I noticed looking at all the different colorways...they seem to play well together in almost any mixture. If I had the chance, I'd use the yarn to make a Baby Shane or perhaps some sort of mosaic pattern baby blanket.
ReplyDeleterealyn on Ravelry
I really like the Red and Green palettes. Having a new grandson AND a new baby niece - a blankie would definitely be in order for one or both - perhaps two minis - one for each to carry.

ReplyDeleteso hard to pick just one..but i guess id have to say jewels is my favorite..:) raineoc@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI've made two Baby Shane blankets already (Reds and Jewel) and they have been very well received. I'm loving the looks of the Pastels, and I would probably make Baby Shane again.
ReplyDeleteViki (on Ravelry)
Love the purples! The other sets are lovely, but the purple one is entirely me.
ReplyDeleteNot much of one for blankets, though, so it'd definitely have to be a huge stripey shawl!
aminamithri on Rav!
I'm really drawn to the pastel palette - it's just screaming spring to me! I would probably make a little stripey throw blanket for our couch - something to throw over a lap since it's still a little chilly at night.
ReplyDeletemagowank at gmail dot com
I love the purples, reds and jewels colourways. I would probably knit "hip in hemp" for myself or "colour me pretty" for one of my girls. Your yarns get lots of attention because of their intense colourings and knitting them is like a dream!
ReplyDeleterebecca_joy79@yahoo.ca
I love the greens colorway. Well, I love all the colors but the greens have something special ;)
ReplyDeleteI think I would like to do a striped cardigan.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a fiarly sincere ROY G BIV rainbow colorway, but failing that: Jewel. And I'd probably knit myself a shawl to snuggle up in, with the littles. Or maybe a shrug. Or a raglan cardigan. Hm.

I love the origal colorways. The pattern I would knit is the Churchmouse Tea & Yarn's Vintage Crocheted Throw.
ReplyDeleteandiknits on Rav
It's super difficult to choose just ONE color. It's the reason I haven't been able to choose a colorway for the dipped infinity cowl! But I think I would go with the blues to green. I would probably make a baby blanket, as I do have a few wee ones to knit for in the next few months. I'm currently just starting an Ombre (with yarn that didn't work for another project) and I can't wait to see it finished!

I posted a link to the giveaway page on my facebook too! :)

I have to choose just one? ;-) ok either the original or blues to yellows. I would make the blanket intended.
ReplyDeleteCraftysly (ravelry)
My favourite colorway?? - all of them!! if I really had to choose it would be the reds in a fair isle cardigan and hat.
ReplyDeletejoanneperrow@hotmail.com
Fb'd it here, though I couldn't figure out how to link back to a business, so I made it public here:

I love all the color combination, but esp. the Blues. I would probably knit a giant striped cowl or blanchette, something to snuggle up in.
ReplyDelete(phoebe-bird on Ravelry)
LOVE LOVE LOVE at first sight...definitely the blues!
ReplyDeleteNo sure what I would make but am sure I would get an inspiration ...

I love all of them but since I have to choose one, I really like Blue to yellow palette. I would like to use the yarn to knit myself a Linen scarf. I'm sure that the mix of these colours would make a lovely scarf.
ReplyDeleteRav: zenitude
I love the greens and April 2 is my birthday, so maybe I will be lucky! I would like to make the Baby Shane Blanket with the greens.
ReplyDeleteI would love to knit a blanket in the jewel colors. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOooh I'd go for the Jewels palette, and I would probably make the Baby Shane Blanket. I've never seen it before and I like the way it is constructed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway ^_^
(grandmastatus on rav)
I would love to knit a simple striped blanket in the Jewel colours, but I also love the Blue and Green sets! I'd love to see a rainbow set as an option.
ReplyDeletehazelbranch (ravelry)
I like the others love them all but I had to choose would choose the blues. Would use it for some learning of new to me colourwork. The greens and purples would be close seconds
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThe jewel colourway is probably my favourite.
Admittedly, I can only think of making a baby blanket. So may cousins are pregnant and I have shower gifts on the brain.
danielle.m.sachs@gmail.com
What a generous giveaway Tanis! I am in love with the blues! I would make a blanket for my boys for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love the Jewels! My grandma would love to make a blanket from these!
ReplyDeletegeminicalli@yahoo.com
Yippee! To die for colours! I pick 'reds' or 'purples'! I would say possibly a scarf or blanket to show off the palette!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

The purples are right up my alley. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Jewel palette.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd make a shawl or hat with it :)

Original. I would make a striped cardigan sweater for one of my girls.
ReplyDeleteThequiltedlion on Rav
Ohh these are gorgeous! I love them all, but I think the Greens go together so perfectly, so I'd pick them! I haven't made the baby shane blanket, so probably that. Or a sweater!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to practice my colorwork skills with the green colorway. jloquilts23@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLove the colour combinations and I would love the Originals or the Blues to make maybe a smaller blanket for my first gift as a new Aunt this summer, or a bunch of winter accessories for my boys who keep losing theirs.
ReplyDeleteIf I were looking for anything else, it might be a Neutrals palette, creams and greys and browns for those modern folk.
I am TorontoTeacher on Rav.
Original or Greens, I can't decide.
ReplyDeleteI'd make a wrap inspired by the City Blocks Shawl or one of Veera's marvelous asymmetrical striped shawls. or maybe a grown up sweater modeled on your spring hat pattern.
I'm Lulabellebird on Rav or Linda M. in your comments.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the blue kit, it's my favorite color! I'm needing a blanket for my poor plain bed, so that's what I would make :), I'm thinking a lace Rose of England design....

Definitely the Green. Gorgeous grassy greens :)
ReplyDeleteI would probably make a granny stripe blanket, unless something else really caught my fancy. Can't go wrong with a good granny stripe!
Something inspired by the crazy-awesome stuff done by Attic 24.
knitpocalypse on ravelry :)
I think the blue-to-yellow kit is my favorite. If you were to add one, I'd add a bright rainbow colored kit. I've got the most wonderful bright colors lined up to make the purl bee striped blanket. If I won, I'd have to make the baby shane blanket!

I love the greens! I think it would be destined for colorwork.
ReplyDeletePurples is my favorite, I think the colours would look great in log cabin squares
ReplyDeleteI love the jewel palette. So gorgeous! I'd make a stripey vest from the top down.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue to yellow palette!! It looks so fresh when you add the yellow to the blue. I think I would leave all of the skeins on the table to admire for a long time before deciding what to knit -- but definitely a blanket of some sort.
ReplyDeleteOooo...blues to yellow! My favorite color combo. I would make similar but matching Zimmerman Baby Surprise Jackets for very special newborn twins that I have been treating as my own!
ReplyDeleteAndreaW
dcmarina@verizon.net
The blues palette has that funky ombre effect that is so hot right now and would look great as a ripple blanket. On the other side of my brain I think a rainbow palette would be fun for kids as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the variety in the Reds palette! I have been looking for a colorful blanket pattern and the Baby Shane blanket would be perfect.

Oooh - this would be fabulous to win! My cousin has a baby due in the beginning of May and I haven't started a project - yIKES!
ReplyDelete1) I love you offerings, but would love to see a kit that had different shades of white to natural to yellows to oranges.
2) I think I would make a Zig and Zag pram blanket.

Thanks for this opportunity!
Oh my gosh. This would be amazing! We are expecting our first baby in August this year and I would love for her to have a baby shane blanket...I love the "Greens" palette. It's absolutely gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI like the original please...if I win. And...I have a baby to knit it for. YAY!
ReplyDeletekarenc.firestonefarms@cogeco.net
Those are all gorgeous colors! I would simply love to get a chance to play with them.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to design a shawl with leaf motifs in shades of green, though I think I want a bit different greens than you you have in your current selection. I'm thinking more foresty and lush jungle. My plan is to start with a light color and slowly graduate to darker.

I love the purples. I would like to see a pink and green combo. True pinks and raspberries with coordination greens . I would make mittens and hats
ReplyDeletegayle
I twitted about the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteCraftysly (ravelry)
I think the purples are my fave, but it would definitely be a tough choice... I would like to see a monochrome palette - varying shades of grey would make something lovely, I think.
ReplyDeleteThe design that has been speaking to me lately is the Wool Eater Blanket ( http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-wool-eater-blanket on Rav) although I can't deny that I'd be tempted to make a big squishy around-the-house striped cardigan, too.
I'm rstovin on Ravelry
so, so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI think I like the jewel palette the best and I would love see those colors knit up as squishy hexipuffs to add to my beekeepers quilt..
I would totally make the "Sky Scarf" with the blues -- you look at the daytime sky every day, note the closest color and knit one ridge of garter in that color. Over the year you will get a map of the year's weather.
ReplyDeleteSky Scarf
Maaike (maaike on ravelry)
Your colors are so gorgeous! I really love them all, but first I would pick the "blues". I would definitely make the Baby Shane blanket for a lovely young woman who is having her second boy. Her husband served overseas for many years and I know that was a hardship for them. I just want to add a little joy to her world. I don't write a blog but will mention your site on Facebook. You produce to most lovely colors. marcydoane@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteBlogged it - http://jediknits.blogspot.ca/2012/03/heads-up-for-giveaway.html
ReplyDeleteI guess this earns me another entry, but also puts more competitors on the field!
It was hard to decide, but I'd go for the reds.
ReplyDeleteAnd I wouldn't knit a baby blanket, but rather something for myself: a simple raglan sweater with many stripes of different width with these beautiful colors! And with the leftover yarn, I'd knit a pair of stripey socks (matching the sweater or not!) and/or some fingerless gloves. If I'd feel adventurous, I would maybe go for a small fair-isle project on those gloves (or more stripes: I love stripes!).
Day reaming :)

Love the reds and blues! The Baby Shane blanket has been on my favorites list for quite a while, but I wonder how the Mason Dixon mitered square blanket would look with these amazing colors.
ReplyDeleteOh all the colours are amazing, but I'm leaning towards the greens... hmm or jewel? I love the baby shane blanket, so I might make that (again), but this yarn would make amazing stripey mitts, scarf and hat!
ReplyDeleteA rainbow would be stunning.

I love the jewel, but it really is too hard to pick. I would probably make a sriped blanket for my nephew due in July. Thanks! Rav username knitinmountains
ReplyDeleteAll the kits/colorways are lovely but I think I actually like the original one best. I think your baby shane blanket is perfect with the yarns, so that is what I would knit.
ReplyDeletenaomil1@verizon.net
Oh dear, how do you choose? The reds are fantastic - but I have lots of red blankets.... perhaps the blue to yellow?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the one! But really, they're all gorgeous. And I would have to knit my baby girl a blanket for when she transitions to her own room. (Hopefully sooner than later)
My rav name is cherylmac.
I love deep rich colours. Favs are Purple, Orange, Red, & Teal. I love to knit with the "Original" set in the picture. Reminds me of a small print I bought several years ago that ended up inspiring the coulour scheme of an entire room. If I had that set I think I'd be inspired to make a nice throw blanket to go in the room.
ReplyDeleteWould love to see an "Autumn" palette with a nice mix of red, orange, yellow, and green.

wow! love them all but I would choose jewel and make a shawl. My rav name is temari.
ReplyDeleteThe original is brilliant - but I also like the reds. If I were to create my own it would be a prism or rainbow colourway and I would make a big happy blanket for my girls to snuggle up and build forts with!!
ReplyDeleteI love the original palette and would make a baby blanket for the wee one coming in June.
ReplyDeletemjmknitting on ravelry
Wow, having a whole range of colours to play with looks like so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd go for the Baby Shane blanket in the Purples palette.

I think I would have to pick the pastels palate! I would make a Baby Shane Blanket or a baby sized Flowers in the Snow (if I get the hang of crocheting).
ReplyDeleteravID mayapof
I like the jewel palette and I think I might knit a hap shawl with graduated colorways - Jared Flood has a very nice design in the Spring Thaw collection.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness it would be a difficult decision! I've been thinking of tackling OpArt and in the blues it would be like wrapping baby in the ocean. How cool would that be? What an exciting giveaway!
