Is it possible that I haven't done a giveaway since October? Shame on me. Let's fix that right now!
Recently I've been looking at my Baby Shane Blanket kits in a whole new light. I've had these kits available in my shop for a few years now, and suddenly I find them completely inspiring! I think that most people buy the kits with the intention of knitting my Baby Shane Blanket pattern (duh) but there are so many possibilities. I'm considering crocheting a ripple blanket, maybe knitting a simple striped blanket like this... I've started viewing these kits almost like sampler palettes that I can play around with, I've got a few more palettes in mind, I might refresh some of my currently available colour options and add some new ones too in the future.
Which brings us to today's giveaway! Leave a comment to enter to win the Baby Shane Blanket kit of your choice. In your comment, let me know:
1) What is your favorite palette? Or, is there's a palette that you'd love to see but that I don't yet have available, let me know!
2) What would you make with your kit?
3) Be sure to leave an e-mail address or Ravelry username so I can get in touch with you should you win!
As usual, for bonus entries:
Mention this giveaway on your blog and include a link to this giveaway post - be sure to come back and leave another comment here telling me that you blogged about it so I know!

As a mother of three boys who are always begging me to knit them something I would knit a blanket with the blues palette or the blues to yellow palette for their beds. Maybe a block by block with the colors fading into the next shade as it progresses.
ReplyDeleteThe blue to yellow is quite lovely...such dreamy colors!
ReplyDeleteNO idea what I would use all that beautiful yarn for, but I am thinking something exciting and stylish. I do like stripes...
If I win (fingers crossed!) I am

It's so hard to choose! But I really like the purple and the blue colorway.
ReplyDeleteI would use to knit a baby blanket for one of my several friends that gave birth or are pregnant...
I shared the giveaway in my FB wall: http://www.facebook.com/paulacastrocrafts
ReplyDeleteI love the blues to yellow - normally I am not into yellow but your yellows are stunning. I would have a go at the Shane blanket having just had a new niece added to my family.
ReplyDeleteRav: Raelne
The blue palette is my favorite! I would make a multi-square blanket.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.

I love the jewel palette and would be making the ripple blanket. It reminds me of the first afghan my Grandmother taught me to make, back when all we used was acrylic yarn and only two colors!
ReplyDeleteRav:shobey
Hard to choose but I think my fav. one is the red palette
ReplyDeleteI made the Shane blanket a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. I used stash yarn and I'm sure your yarn would be beautiful. I just found out that my niece, who fought breast cancer all last year, is 61/2 weeks pregnant. We are all quite ecstatic...it has been a roller coaster of a year. I'm sure she would be thrilled with most any color, they are all glorious! Thanks for sharing your talents!
ReplyDeletedebraanngoldberg@gmail.com
I'd get the greens and use it to make a ruffled scarf! Yes!
ReplyDeletesilvergirl3.7@gmail.com
I think my fave is the original palette!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the blue to yellow color pallet. I'd love to do a chevron striped blanket in them. I will admit I am a slow knitter (most of this is because just don't have much time to knit,) but I would take on a blanket project if I won. :)

ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful color choices. It's really hard to pick a favorite.
1. Color Palette: a) Blues, b) jewels, c) reds
2. I would definitely make the Shane Baby Blanket or another blanket of some sort. I would love to learn to crochet and make a chevron or ripple patterned blanket.

they're all gorgeous palettes, but my favorite would be the blues. I have some baby blankets to make and will need to get some yarn soon, so this would go towards it.

I loooove the jewel tones! I've finally got to the point where I think I knit my first sweater, and with yarn as lovely as these that sweater would be made out of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I love the purples or the jewels. And I would make squares to make a blanket for ME for once!!!

ReplyDeleteI like "original" color set, and would attempt to knit a blanket. I say attempt not because I couldn't do it technically, but because I don't know if I have the endurance.
ReplyDeleteThe jewel palette would make a great Baby Shane blanket, or a fair isle type project with so many colors.

I like the Blues kit. I'm obsessed with blue these days! I do love the baby shane blanket, but I think I'd make the Traveler's life Afghan by the Yarn Harlot. There's something lovely about mindless, striped knitting to snuggle up with!
ReplyDeleteRAV ID: sparkstjohns
I love the jewel colorways, and I would definitely make the Baby Shane blanket for a pregnant friend.
ReplyDeleteoreokia on ravelry
I have been wanting to knit the baby shane pattern for ages and recently i have been mildly obssessed with the blank canvas jumper as my friend is having a baby and she wants lots of cute ahnd knits
ReplyDeleteso i would knit one of those for her and as to which colour way i would normally say purples but i really love the blue to yellow colourway for baby stuffs

The Greens is my favorite, such a beautiful array of shades. I think a green and purple combo would also be very lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'd use it to make my a blanket for my forthcoming baby! (so weird to type that!)
rav name = jenmegc
My favorite palette above is the "greens" one; I'd love to use it to make a gorgeous shawl or wrap.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see an ocean sunset palette - deep reds and peaches for the sky, and turquoise to dark blue for the water.

I like the jewel tones and would probably use them to make a stunning shawl for my mom. She also looks great in the shades of "autumn" as a suggestion for another palette.
ReplyDeleteRav name is unirider
Hmmm
ReplyDeleteI think my fave is the red... but I love the greens too.... or the jewels... ack I could never decide.
My mind is blown... try and do a few pairs of fingerless gloves. We need them this time of year here in TO. It's too cold to have bare hands on the GO train platform but my alpaca mitts are too hot.
Punkyspice on Ravelry. Fingers crossed.
I love the spectrum of the green colorways! I'm thinking a good ol' fashioned Fair Isle Yoke Cardigan from the Opinionated Knitter. If I cast on now, I should be able to strut around in it this autumn.

Beautiful! I love the original one. A rainbow one would be cute too. I love making baby blankets!
ReplyDeleteLove the reds.
ReplyDeleteBLEknits on rav.
I love them all! But if I'm forced to chose, I'd say the Jewel tones would be my pick.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to make a lacy blanket, mabe a stripe chalice blanket with this kit.

LOVELY giveaway -- oh my, how to choose! I'd go with the "greens" this moment, as spring is definitely here where I live and your soft palette is elegant and wonderful! I'd make a ripple afghan -- just right for those naps inbetween spring cleaning LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm MaryjoO on Ravelry, MaryjoOrd on Twitter and I'll "facebook" your contest :))
I love the original colorway. I would love to make the Baby Shane Blanket! Thanks for all your inspiring colors.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to love your blues palette. I've had ponchos on my mind for a while now and would love to knit a striped one in these shades. Can't you just see it? Perfect for a spring day or a cool summer's night.
ReplyDeleteprojectstashEL on Ravelry
I love all your palettes; if I had to choose one to knit with at the moment it would have to be either the reds or the greens, and I'd knit a blanket for my new niece or nephew due in October - probably something stripy or ripply, not sure what pattern.
ReplyDeleteksh on Rav
Ohh! Decisions, decisions!! They are all beautiful, but I'd have to say the Purples!!
ReplyDeleteAnd since I don't have any new babies on the horizon to knit for I'd probably use the skeins to make accessories and small projects. Is that ok?
Thanks so much for the opportunity. :)

I would make a throw for me. Instead of everyone else. Something to use winter and summer. Love the yarn. It looks yummy.
Wow! Would you believe the hardest part is choosing between the palettes? I think I'd go with the greens. I can envision a lovely Bavarian Crochet baby blanket.

Apologies if this comes through twice. I tried commenting earlier today but it didn't seem to go through.
I love the blues, but would also love a grey colourway! The Baby Shane blanket seems like a perfect pattern and there's always a deserving baby around!
ReplyDeletestitchy_ritchie@shaw.ca
I love them all, but I think that my favorite is the jewel colorway. I'd probably just make a blanket with big wide stripes to really show off the gorgeousness of the yarn.

ReplyDeleteThey are all lovly but my choose would be the Purple Palette and I would make a baby Blanket and maybe a shawl.

Love the purples and the blues - can't decide which! I'd probably make a shawl.
ReplyDeleteI like the pastels or the purple or even the original. Though instead of a blanket I'd probably want to make a fair isle sweater. Maybe something with an all over pattern that I could shift the colors gradually.
ReplyDeleteAnd as always- love the blog. Big thank you for another chance for a giveaway.

Wow, the purple colorways are gorgeous! I think that I would still knit a blanket (beginner here) but instead of for my baby who is already getting tons of stuff I would knit a blanket for my special needs dog. She keeps trying to steal my yarn as it is so obviously she wants her own to cuddle.

It's hard to choose just one colourway. They're so beautiful! I guess I would have to go with the blue to yellow set and I love the Super Easy Baby Blanket from The Purl Bee...but with two grandchildren under the age of two (boy and girl), I could also make baby sweaters in a pinch.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue palette!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to make a lace shawl for the summer and I think these colours would match the pattern perfectly!

I'd pick the purple. A friend just had a baby a few months ago and I made her a purple baby blanket in a leaf lace pattern. She just died over it so I'd love to make her another blanket (this one for her!) Although I have to admit...I love All those palettes. So beautiful!

ReplyDeleteLove the blues and purples palettes!
ReplyDeleteI would love to make the baby Shane blanket for my nephew. Otherwise I would make another honey cowl or maybe more of Susie's reading mitts, or possibly a Rikke hat-the list goes on and on...
Although I do love the jewel and purple palettes, there's something about the green palette that speaks to me right now. I would probably make a baby blanket!

ReplyDeletei am every drawn to the blues! it's often quite grey in vancouver. the blues palette evokes the complex hues in the sky and sea. year round, it would be a lovely feast for the eyes in my living room! a baby shane would be ambitious for me at this time. i might even use it for a super easy baby blanket and double up so it's a lap sized blanket for the couch.

I'm tickleturtle on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteThose colour ways are great, but it's the blues that call out to me -- I'd make a shawl or a blanket for my mum. She lives in another part of the province, so I don't get to see her as often as I'd like, and she's in poor health so she could use a woolly hug.

I would love to do sweater #2 in some kind of stripey ombre pattern. Please please please! --EmilyPotato on Ravelry :)
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win one of your palettes. All of them actually. Maybe I would chose the greens, if I had to make a choice. And I have no idea what I would knit, there are so many possibilities. But for sure it would be for one of my kids. Or maybe for both. Matching... something? I absolutely LOVE your yarn! :)

ReplyDeleteI finally decided that the purple colorway is my favorite. But it was close! Since we're not expecting a baby anytime soon, I think I'd try to make a throw size blanket for our couch.
I would make the Baby Shane Blanket... or maybe a cardigan.. in the Jewel colours. They are beautiful!

I love the reds. I'd make a long stripey scarf--or more than one depending on its size!

I'd love a greys/blues palette. I'd probably knit up a baby blanket. I love the baby shane blanket.

I would love to make an Olive's Afghan(http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/olives-afghan)in the greens palette.

I love the reds and the jewels. Too tough to pick right now. I don't have a baby on the way, nor do any friends, so I would probably split them up and make accessories with the yarns.
ReplyDeleteI love the Jewel colourway, however the purple is lovely, too. Isn't everything improved with a dash of purple?
ReplyDeleteWhat would I do with it if I win it? Well, first I would cuddle and stroke it, because your lovely yarns deserve to be cuddled. Then I think I might make a shawl from them, although I would need to commune with them first, to choose the right shawl!
My ravelry id is Femmeng.
I mentionned your giveaway on my blog... Almost forgot... http://www.anyonecanknit.blogspot.ca/ Thank you for the great contest!
ReplyDeleteThe purples are perfection! I would make a stripe throw to put on the back of my knitting chair--I could wrap in around me in the cold winter months : )
ReplyDeleteThese palettes are so inspiring! I love the reds and blues kits, which would be fabulous in a stripey blanket, or woven into a stried scarf.

I really love the purples. Purple is a color I never get tired of. I'd love to make a log cabin blanket out of it. Or an awesome crochet ripple.
ReplyDeleteLove the original palette.Definitely for a baby blanket.

Argh! So many choices! i love the blue to yellow as well as the purples. I would probably knit a couple of different things for the grandbabies in my life.
ReplyDeletejudithgagnon@xplornet.ca
Who chould choose - they are all gorgeous - but Blues or Greens would top my list for a great sweater. Harleyboy on Rav
ReplyDeleteThanks
Reds - definitely! I just noticed the beautiful orange in that palette. Thanks Harleyboy on Rav
ReplyDeleteI would love the Purples kit. So versatile!'

oooh. decisions. decisions.
ReplyDeleteif i was picking from one of your existing colour combos i would pick 'reds' to create a 'shane blanket' for my cousin's baby-to-be.
if i was creating my own palette i would pair: sand, shadow, dove, stormy, natural, charcoal with seabreeze OR the grays, sand, natural with buttercup, gold and maybe orange blossom? (i heart gray and yellow together).
happy knitting tanis.
arts-tart (rav)
I'd go for purples and would make a blanket out of it.
ReplyDeleteI would love a 'Burple' palette - remove the light greenish colors in the Blues and replace them with the three darkest colors from the Purples.
ReplyDeleteI definitively would make a striped tunic (Olive or Skalva) or cardigan (Featherweight cardigan) with it, starting with the lighter colors on top and ending with the darker ones at the bottom.

Hi Tanis!
ReplyDeleteAll the palettes are gorgeous, but my favorite is Jewel. I could also see another palette in more muted colors - like Sand, Dove, Charcoal and pops of color like Plum or maybe Olive?
I would probably knit a baby blanket or striped baby sweaters.
Thanks!

WOW! Wonderful giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Blues! I am thinking long scarves, shawls, light cowls and hats!
Thanks for the chance to win!! I am off to tweet this great giveaway!!
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI really like the jewel colorways.
I would knit myself a shawl and learn lae knitting with it.
Thanks!

I like the jewel and the purple.
ReplyDeleteBut if I were going to make a new one up, I'd do a rainbow with Charcoal, Jewel, Poppy, Orange Blossom, Buttercup, Spearmint and Cobalt.
Or a more muted rainbow with plum or grape, lilac, Atlantic, olive, gold, sunset, brick and sand. The possibilities are endless.
Not sure what I'd do. Actually, yes I do. I love the pattern for the Blooming Cotton Scarf by Eunny Jang. That would be fabulous in your colours.

I love the Jewel Tones! And I think they would make an awesome Baby Shane Blanket for my new niece. :)

Love the purples! I would stay with a baby blanket and possibly make http://www.purlbee.com/chevron-baby-blanket/

I love all the palettes, but I think the blues is my favorite. You've inspired me to make a blanket! I'm surlyturtle on ravelry.
ReplyDeleteOoh, so pretty! I would love to use the purple colourway to make a throw for my (purple) couch. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this giveaway!

Oooh! I'd have to say the jewel colourway is my favourite, although the greens is nice too. I am a bit of a fan of oranges and purples together and would love to see that. As to what to make, I would love to make something with stripes, perhaps a blanket for my boys to make forts with!

I'm going with greens for my favorite. Or maybe the jewels. I can't decide... it could be blues. I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI'd make a second baby shane as I already have one made and have been waiting for just the right baby. A friend of mine is having twins in September... what better gift than baby shanes for her matching babies?! Two blankets is a must!

I love Jewel set and I would make a stripey sweater from the set.

Coming late to this (the things you miss when you're away from the internet!) but I hope not too late--I've had a long-time plan to make Curve of Pursuit and I think it would look fantastic in the Blues palette (I might have to do some math to work out the color sequence...). All of your palettes have lovely gradations that would work well for this pattern, though.
ReplyDeleteI really do love all the colours, but my favorite is the purples. I'm not sure what I would make yet, possibly a shawl. My ravelry id is francine.
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest, that is one sexy orange in the Pastels colorway. I love all of pastels and if I won I would have to make a stuffed animal for the kiddies I just babysat last week. Either that, or a new blanket for the little boy who just can't seem to let go of the ratty old thing that he has had for forever. It's adorable, but a little ridiculous. I can also already see the duck that the yellow is begging me to knit and the scarf the aqua and blue want to be turned into. I can also feel the fingerless gloves I'd turn the orange into, should I win, and a silly baby beenie for the green.

I love The Reds but I also like the Blue to Yellow palette. I would also love a fall palette. It's been a few weeks since I visited my fave knitting blogs. Luckily friends share secrets so we don't miss all the fun giveaways.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous yarns, Tanis!
they are all stunning and so many people think so!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your greens palette, that is my favourite I think.
I would love to knit a huge striped mandala blanket, maybe like the old forge blanket that has been made at smoking hot needles, *swoon*
thank you for the chance to win your beautiful yarns!
I'd pick the greens palette and I'd make a child's Fair Isle sweater. I'm Mom2O on Ravelry -- what a fantastic giveaway, thank you!
ReplyDeleteAll the colors are really great, but if I have to decide it is the greens ;-). I would make my mum a green jacket, since she just loves green.
ReplyDeleteI am susara on rav.

Wow! It took me forever to decide which palette I liked best, but the Jewel Palette won out! I would love to use it to make a Log Cabin blanket -- all that comforting garter stitch, with those colors, would be heaven!
ReplyDeleteI hope I win! My email is fashionxxfight AT gmail DOT com.

Such a hard decision, but I think Jewel is my favorite, and I would want to make the Baby Shane blanket.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful, but if I have to pick then let it be the jewel tones! A baby blanket or a shawl would be in order I think. Thanks for the opportunity.
