Giveaway!

Is it possible that I haven't done a giveaway since October? Shame on me. Let's fix that right now!

baby shane giveaway

Recently I've been looking at my Baby Shane Blanket kits in a whole new light. I've had these kits available in my shop for a few years now, and suddenly I find them completely inspiring! I think that most people buy the kits with the intention of knitting my Baby Shane Blanket pattern (duh) but there are so many possibilities. I'm considering crocheting a ripple blanket, maybe knitting a simple striped blanket like this... I've started viewing these kits almost like sampler palettes that I can play around with, I've got a few more palettes in mind, I might refresh some of my currently available colour options and add some new ones too in the future.

Which brings us to today's giveaway! Leave a comment to enter to win the Baby Shane Blanket kit of your choice. In your comment, let me know:

1) What is your favorite palette? Or, is there's a palette that you'd love to see but that I don't yet have available, let me know!

2) What would you make with your kit?

3) Be sure to leave an e-mail address or Ravelry username so I can get in touch with you should you win!

As usual, for bonus entries:

Mention this giveaway on your blog and include a link to this giveaway post - be sure to come back and leave another comment here telling me that you blogged about it so I know!

Post a link to this blog post on your facebook page (be sure to tag TFA in the post so I can see it!)
Tweet about the giveaway on twitter!

A winner will be chosen and announced on Monday, April 2nd. Good luck!

Comments are now closed, thanks to all who entered!

  1. As a mother of three boys who are always begging me to knit them something I would knit a blanket with the blues palette or the blues to yellow palette for their beds. Maybe a block by block with the colors fading into the next shade as it progresses.

  2. The blue to yellow is quite lovely...such dreamy colors!
NO idea what I would use all that beautiful yarn for, but I am thinking something exciting and stylish. I do like stripes...

  12. I made the Shane blanket a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. I used stash yarn and I'm sure your yarn would be beautiful. I just found out that my niece, who fought breast cancer all last year, is 61/2 weeks pregnant. We are all quite ecstatic...it has been a roller coaster of a year. I'm sure she would be thrilled with most any color, they are all glorious! Thanks for sharing your talents!

Oh - the rainbow palette sounds like a wonderful idea.

I'd also love deep purples, grays... and orange!

  118. I love the blues to yellow. I think the transition is so subtle and beautiful it draws you from color to color. I would make a striped blanket. My mom knit one for each of us as babies. I love the pictures of us with them. email

  126. So beautiful. I really like the jewel colours, but the original palate is a close second. I would be tempted to make beautiful accessories like this rainbow cowl http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rainbow-cowl or wingspan http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wingspan-2. But this rainbow dress by tikki would also look amazing in this beautiful yarn! http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rainbow-dress

  129. I would probably go for the blue colorway because I want a baby boy so bad! And so I would definitely make a blanket with it if I was to get pregnant! My absolute favorite color though is shadow - love it!

  133. You are a magician with colours. They are all so inspiring. The palette which said Baby Shane Blanket to me was the green...and I still have time to get it done...and be a proud grandma. (I also loved the jewel tones. So many choices).

  134. I think my favourite palette is the Blues (although Greens, Originals, and Jewel Tones are not far behind). I kind of wish you had a Neutrals palette.

I'm not sure whether I'd make a baby blanket, make several smaller (hat/mitten) projects, or try to find a cardigan pattern that would work with multiple colours.

  165. oooh. decisions. decisions.

if i was picking from one of your existing colour combos i would pick 'reds' to create a 'shane blanket' for my cousin's baby-to-be.

if i was creating my own palette i would pair: sand, shadow, dove, stormy, natural, charcoal with seabreeze OR the grays, sand, natural with buttercup, gold and maybe orange blossom? (i heart gray and yellow together).

    happy knitting tanis.

  166. I'd go for purples and would make a blanket out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I would love a 'Burple' palette - remove the light greenish colors in the Blues and replace them with the three darkest colors from the Purples.
I definitively would make a striped tunic (Olive or Skalva) or cardigan (Featherweight cardigan) with it, starting with the lighter colors on top and ending with the darker ones at the bottom.

All the palettes are gorgeous, but my favorite is Jewel. I could also see another palette in more muted colors - like Sand, Dove, Charcoal and pops of color like Plum or maybe Olive?

But if I were going to make a new one up, I'd do a rainbow with Charcoal, Jewel, Poppy, Orange Blossom, Buttercup, Spearmint and Cobalt.

Or a more muted rainbow with plum or grape, lilac, Atlantic, olive, gold, sunset, brick and sand. The possibilities are endless.

Not sure what I'd do. Actually, yes I do. I love the pattern for the Blooming Cotton Scarf by Eunny Jang. That would be fabulous in your colours.

Coming late to this (the things you miss when you're away from the internet!) but I hope not too late--I've had a long-time plan to make Curve of Pursuit and I think it would look fantastic in the Blues palette (I might have to do some math to work out the color sequence...). All of your palettes have lovely gradations that would work well for this pattern, though.

  185. I have to be honest, that is one sexy orange in the Pastels colorway. I love all of pastels and if I won I would have to make a stuffed animal for the kiddies I just babysat last week. Either that, or a new blanket for the little boy who just can't seem to let go of the ratty old thing that he has had for forever. It's adorable, but a little ridiculous. I can also already see the duck that the yellow is begging me to knit and the scarf the aqua and blue want to be turned into. I can also feel the fingerless gloves I'd turn the orange into, should I win, and a silly baby beenie for the green.
